On the first and third Monday of every month, Firefighter Dayna and I go to the fire station for training. This week, we learned about how hydrants work and how to clean them. Firefighter Dayna already knew of this, but I didn't know a thing about hydrants, so I really enjoyed the training!
During the summertime, it's important to keep plants and weeds away from the fire hydrant to so that firefighters can find the hydrants (in rural areas). During the winter, keep all the snow away from it.
